Tremor II is a character who only appears in the manga series, Shadows of Spawn, first debuting in Episode 4: The Suffering.
History[]
Tremor II is first seen asleep inside a big rig truck driving around in downtown Los Angeles at night. After using high readings of psychoplasm to find their target, Spawn, the trucks heads to his location. A U.S colonel and a scientist are watching over the large behemoth, talking about how Tremor II is the government's first psychoplasm-imbued soldier.[1] According to the scientist, at the turn of the 20th century, Violator—who was at one of the highest echelons of the Pentagon—revealed that, not only was he from hell, but also showed them "scientific tricks" that could be used to surpass the word's natural limitations. Whatever the scientists wanted, Violator showed them how to achieve it; Tremor II being the fruit of their efforts, [2] being created with both the general public nor the New York mafia, creators of the first Tremor, being aware of its existence.[3]
As the truck draws closer towards Spawn, the scientist begins to awaken Tremor II, with this occasion being the first time that Tremor II would be awakened.[4] However, the beast begins to gain consciousness far sooner than expected, burst out of his capsule and destroying the truck in the process. Spawn arrives at the scene, realising that Tremor II's awakening is part of Malebolgia's schemes to get him constantly involved in combat. He attempts to battle the large beast but none of his punches or kicks have any effect on it. Beelzebub soon arrives afterwards, with Spawn telling her to stay out of the way to avoid getting hurt. Spawn jumps in front of her in order to shield her from Tremor II's attacks; the demon sarcastically thanks him for his gesture, telling the hellspawn that his attacks are useless because Tremor II doesn't feel pain and only moves on pure instinct alone. She tells the hellspawn that his only chance of defeating the behemoth is to use his powers but, as this Spawn is still relatively new to being a hellspawn, he doesn't know how to.
As Beelzebub muses on Spawn's predicament, Tremor II lunges towards her. The hellspawn dashes in between them, shielding her from the behemoth's fist. Beelzebub yells at the hellspawn, chastising him for trying to protect her. Tremor II attempts to crush Beelzebub within his hand but, seemingly unaffected by it and feeling thankful for his gesture (despite denying it), she uses her powers to burst out of Tremor II's hand, telling the manmade beast that he's too weak to hurt her. Tremor II screams as his arm burns and is never seen again, presumably dying from the loss of his arm.
