Primitive Savage Spawn is one of the three playable characters in the 1997 PlayStation video game Spawn: The Eternal.
Due to the story-light nature of the game, nothing much is known about Savage Spawn. Savage Spawn appears in three levels: The Outback, The Temple and The Shrine. The cave the Savage Spawn starts in is covered in ancient cave paintings while his early levels have hostile Neanderthals roaming about, which suggests that his levels take place around 40,000 years ego. The Temple and The Shrine seems to be inspired by pre-Columbian American civilisation in its design, which suggests that his levels may take place somewhere in Mesoamerica or South America.
In a later level, Al Simmons encounters an enemy that looks exactly like Medieval Spawn and Savage Spawn. It is not known whether this is actually Savage Spawn himself or some sort of doppelgänger.
Trivia[]
- Unlike Al Simmons or Medieval Spawn, Savage Spawn is the only playable character who does not have a cape.
